Beutewaffen, side project of the Dutch world-war-themed industrial/dark ambient project Striider, uses the same inspiration to different ends this time around. Big thick slabs of death industrial and washed-out noise bring to mind battalions storming trenches through air thick with mustard gas and fields of mangled dead young men. All promise and hope are quickly extinguished, while samples echo through the poisonous mist, lost soldiers calling out to their units, wounded pleading for help, and the living lamenting the dead. Come wade through the blood and muck, where all pride and honor are extinguished.
